Album of the Week: Contraband

Artist: Velvet Revolver

Released: 2004

The debut album of the American hard rock band was a commercial success. The super group consisted of lead singer Scott Weiland, widely known from Stone Temple Pilots, Slash (lead guitar), Matt Sorum (drums), Duff McKagan (bass) each members of Guns N’ Roses, and punk rocker from Wasted Youth, Dave Kushner (rhythm guitar).

As it would be expected with so much talent coming together to write songs, the album is very likable. Check out some of the songs from the record below.

“Fall to Pieces”

For 11 weeks the song was #1 on Billboard charts.

“You Got No Right”

Excellent harmonies and guitar combine for a great track.

“Loving The Alien”

The song that must be added to your storm Area 51 road trip playlist or played when slow dancing with your favorite alien.

“Slither”

The “harder” song from this list. The song won Best Hard Rock Performance at the 2005 Grammy Awards.
